| Anyone have any recent experience? We've been offered a week at a timeshare bad in thinking it might be a nice, low key vacation. I remember has a kid going to the beach, riding my bike into town. But I've never been back as an adult. Does anyone know of any possible pitfalls of a particular location (like, you could be 20 minutes from the beach, or not able to access the bike paths, or areas are built up.) |
| Which area and timeshare are you staying at? That will help answer the question. |

Its the Coral Reef in Shipyard Plantation. We used to stay in SeaPines when I was growing up. My big concern is that since it is 30 years later, what I'm describing as the experience will be wildly different. I remember getting on my bike and peddling into Harbor town for lunch, going to the beach, and having a quiet, relaxing week.
Im guessing we can still go into Harbour Town; I'd love to revisit it at least one day. |
| HHI is great, 30 years ago and still today. Very kid friendly. Very bike friendly. Not sure if from Shipyard you can bike to the beach,w all the gear. I think maybe other than South Seas Resort on Captiva, it is one of the safest places for kids, families, etc. |

I was just at the shipyard plantation and it seemed very bike able. Don't know exactly where the beach access is though but seemed close enough.
I thought the whole area was nice, pretty, and laid back. Though there is a lot of corporate style reaturaunts vs local establishments. Though they do exist. |
