I'm having a large group over for a cookout. I want to grill up some thighs and drumsticks. I need a really good marinade. Anyone have something good? Maybe like a bourbon chicken marinade?
This chicken will sit in marinade 24-48 hrs before being grilled. |
| Soy vey sauce! |
I bought that once and found the sale over powering. |

This is a Korean marinade if you want to try:
Ginger Sesame Oil Soy Sauce Brown sugar Lemon juice Garlic White wine |
| Trader joes island soyaki. |
| I really try to make these things from scratch, but I love using bottled Italian dressing for marinade. |
| Montreal chicken spice. Follow the recipe on the bottle. It's super easy and quite good for grilling. |
| Soy sauce and honey. Equal parts. Sesame seeds if you'd like. |
+1 We add a dollop of maple syrup and a can of ginger beer. |
My mom used to do the same marinade, but with orange juice instead of lemon juice, and big chunks of onion floating around in it. It was great for beef or chicken (or just peppers, mushrooms, and onions). One of my favorite childhood memories. |
| A friend of mine uses equal parts fish sauce and lime juice, with an apeload of garlic. It's really good. |

He mostly uses it for steaks, but I tried it with chicken and that works too. |
OP here, thank you! I think I'm going to go for this one! |
| We like Stubb's chicken marinade. They make a few other marinades too. |
I've got some skirt steak marinating in something like this right now (also with OJ instead of lemon). |
