How often does your child have music, PE, etc.?

In elementary school, I had a homeroom teacher half the day and the other half of the day involved rotation among art, music, PE, science, and library. We had each of those special classes four times a week. I'm getting the sense that this kind of thing just isn't done these days, perhaps due to NCLB demands. How often does your child have special classes like music, art, and PE each week? Which specials are offered in your school? Does your school have recess outdoors everyday? Are you in a public or private school? DC, MD, or VA? I'm trying to get a sense of the norm here.

My son has PE three times a week and music twice. This is in PG County, MD, public school.

My DC has Visual Arts & PE 2x per week, and recess outside (weather permitting). Language arts are via the immersion model.

DC is in a DC charter school.

Two recesses/day. Specials: PE 3x/week, art 1 double period per week, drama 2x/week, IT once/week, music 2x/week, library once/week. Science is integrated into the regular academic curriculum, so it's not counted as a "special." Private elem school in DC.

Our DCPS elementary: music, art, PE, and science special are each once a week (science is incorporated into the homeroom curriculum, but they have a science specialist come in once a week); recess every day, weather permitting.
