Hi Jeff,

I started a thread in off-topic section for personal/private chef yesterday and can't find it anymore. What happened to it?

That thread violated our guidelines prohibiting advertising. I looked the other way for a few hours, but once you bumped it, I lost patience.

Sorry, I had no idea it was not ok. I just wanted to ask opinions and possibly get inquiries. I wasn't advertising, just looking for possible employment. Same as nannies, household staff, no?

We have specific forums for nannies and housekeepers. Sorry, we don't have the same for chefs.

Exactly, so I dint think I was doing something violating guidelines. I have seen several posts by private chefs in the past, what made mine so irritating? I've tried to post in the cooking/ restaurant section without success. Is this banned as well?

The exceptions to this rule are nannies and housekeepers for whom we created specific forums. But, we don't allow plumbers or roofers to advertise. We have an entire real estate forum, but don't allow realtors to advertise.

If you have seen several postings from personal chiefs, I can only say that they are lucky it was you and not me. I would have deleted them.

Ok, I understand the shamelessly advertising your business portion. I don't own a business yet, I merely was just trying to see if there would be demand and possibly get some interest. I have been with/on DCUM for at least 7 years and have seen (they still come up in search) similar postings re cake bakers, lice ladies, decorators etc. I know you can't possibly weed through everything, but "losing your patience" on my post was so quick and felt little harsh. Thanks.
