We're going there for the first time over Memorial Day and would love some recommendations! We will have our two young children with us, so prefer something kid friendly (though we do tend to bring our kids to nicer restaurants from time to time). |
Confucius--better Chinese food than we've ever had in DC
Salt Air Henlopen Oyster House |
Mango's (Bethany) |
Pretty much everything there is kid-friendly. Not everything is great food but we had a great meal at 14 Global; you can sit outside so good for kids. Bethany Blues is decent BBQ. Mangos has a great view (so-so food). I've never been but my parents say Nicoboli's pizza in Rehoboth is good and has a train that goes around to keeps kids entertained. |
I'd add the Back Porch Cafe, Lupo di Mare, Cultured Pearl and Stingray to the Rehoboth recommendations. |
If you go early Blue Coast is fine for kids and is a great meal |
I like Dogfish Head for casual, although it is a brewpub so not sure if that's your version of kid friendly. |
Summer House
Big Fish Go Fish! Half-Full in Lewes, go to Kids Ketch for little toys Fractured Prune for doughnuts Ice Cream store on Boardwalk Coffee Mill then to Browseabout Books for a little toy or book Second NicABolis I would never take a little one to Lupo di Mare but maybe that's me. |
Woody's - best crab cakes
Stingrays - best sushi (no kids menu) Cultured Pearl - fun for kids with fish on roof, but sushi is not as god as stingrays and service can be bad Que Pasa - on the bay side, great for watching sunset, kids can play Confucius - excellent Chinese, don't believe they have a kids menu Finns |
Blue Crab in Bethany. Great friend chicken (and crabs). |
I think that Salt Air is overpriced and forgettable. I also wouldn't take a chid to Lupo di Mare. |
How do all these restaurants not have kids menues? Who goes to Rehobeth without kids?? |
Matt's Fish Camp, Off The Hook, Lobster Shanty in Fenwick, and Mango's. All are in Bethany except Lobster Shanty and it is not far. Fractured Prune for fresh donuts. |
First, it's Rehoboth. Second, if you've actually been there and had your eyes open, you'd see that there are plenty of people there without kids, including a huge gay contingent that do not have kids. My wife (I'm a lesbian) and I went there for years before we had kids. Now we go with our kids. |
Off the Hook in Bethany was a wonderful meal. Really great food by any standards - not just by vacation on the beach standards. Kids meals weren't great but ours filled up in the fabulous bread and split a burger. Best calamari I've ever had. |
