| I know all about senioritis but my DS seems to have an extreme form of it. He doesn't want to go to school at all. His grades are fine, not as stellar as they were but by no means in danger of losing his college. He just doesn't see the point. I think all the pre-graduation hub bub is kind of overwhelming. We are making him go every day, and he is, but I'm wondering if any other parents have gone through this. He's otherwise happy, has a job, girlfriend (at another school) and is excited about college. |
| This is normal. |
| I think this is awesome. Good for him. |
| Mine would be if he didn't have a crapload of AP tests next week. I fear it's all downhill once those are over. Luckily there are only about 2 weeks of school after that. |
|
Totally normal and you nagging him about it wont help. When I was a senior we had a month of "internships" after AP testing and before graduation to combat this issue.
The same thing happened to me in law school (3L year was a wash) but not in college because I wanted to push my gpa up to the next "step"...but i did take bs classes that semester. |
| Normal. Mine wanted to do senior skip day and we said no because he'd missed a lot of days already for accepted student visits. Our DS is basically checked out. It's time for him to go to college. |
| It is normal. Seniors are notably disagreeable. Honestly, it makes it much easier to say goodbye to them in the fall!! |
| Can't wait to say adios!! Mine did actually apologize for being a jerk lately though. |
Very true, PP. |
| Wonder if this is a DS thing, and something I'll get to look forward to in two years with DS. Older DD actually stepped it up, adding a part-time job while earning perfect As in every single class for the first time in high school. Nothing to do with us pushing her, in fact we sort of expected a moderate senior slump. |
Should add: yes, DD was somewhat disagreeable. Like she was testing out independence and making up her own mind. It got much better when she left for college and we turned to weekly Skyping. |
