Who would you hire to build a pantry and a closet?

We need at least one, maybe two small construction projects done at our new-to-us house: conversion of some open shelving back to a pantry closet (which it was originally), and possibly adding a laundry closet. No walls would need to be taken down for either project. Would you hire a carpenter or a handyman for this? Any specific recs? We're in Fairfax County.

DIY is wire shelving. You probably need a carpenter if you want to do custom fit shelving or maybe call a closet organizer company

OP back again. We're not going to DIY--I'm done with impermanent/cheap solutions (and we aren't capable of doing anything better!). Does anyone have a recommendation for a good carpenter or handyman?

A good handy person is worth their weight in gold! I would refer ours but he only works for people who know those he knows.

Ask around your neighborhood and your friends to see if you can find and hold onto one or two people.
