We know that she has an impressive background, but it seems that in the time she's been with Clooney, she goes on vacation after vacation. Is this a matter of sounding impressive on paper and then giving it all up when you meet the guy? There is simply no way that a 38 year old lawyer can maintain a high-level, real practice while hopping from vacation to party to event to faction again. |
oops, vacation, not "faction" |
Big question. I similarly ponder if Donald Sterling's girlfriend was born male. |
And OP you know this because you yourself are a high powered attorney? And isn't she better than the airheads he usually dates? |
They haven't been dating that long at all. My guess is that she's very, very accomplished, but has built up the reputation and job security to focus on her personal life for a bit. But what an odd question OP. |
She is an attorney in the UK. They gets six to seven weeks of vacation time per year, and, according to American attorney friends of mine who practice in London, British attorneys actually take the vacation days. Their peers cover for them. |
Note to self: move to London. |
I'm always so struck by oddly hostile responses such as these. Why the weird anger? |
It seems like she has taken all of it this year, and it seems like it would be hard for someone as high-profile as she is to take time suddenly. I'm a mere plebe of an attorney and can't just take off. Maybe she isn't as known as the press makes it seem? Maybe the firm likes the attention and lets her do whatever she wants? |
Maybe she took a leave of absence? |
What a weird question. She wouldn't be as accomplished as she is if she didn't work. We don't know her entire work history, a list of every single client she has, how many hours she logs in. We don't know how she has taken her leaves, if she's taking vacation time, leave of absence, or just reworked her schedule so she's flying out to meet clients in between her personal time. Are you the Clooney girlfriend police? It' okay to feel jealous/envious. But enough to chart her vacations? A bit much. |
NP. I'm always struck by these weirdly half-nosy, half-jealous questions in the first place. Why the weird dissection of someone's personal professional life? |
At her level, rainmaking is work, and it seems she has been doing a great job at getting her name out there. My guess is that soon it will be pouring, if not already. |

OP, not anymore! |
