BCBS mail order rx

Anonymous
What is it like to use mail order vs. the neighborhood pharmacy (aka retail pharmacy)? How long does it take to get an rx? I called today and got a price quote for an rx that is much lower than the retail pharmacy. What, if anything, am I missing?

You are missing nothing. It's the greatest thing ever. If your doc has the right system, she can transmit the script directly to them.

Service is VERY fast.

+1. Agree totally. I LOVE not having to stand in line (or idle at the drive-thru) at CVS. Have used this service for many years with no problems.

Thank you for the replies!
I'm going to give it a try

the rxs are filled at large facilities where they can keep the cost down much further than retail. sometimes the copays are lower too to get people to fill.
it's really more efficient and lower cost for all involved for 90 day plus meds. no catch, usually very efficient and well run. the facilities are the same if not better than what you find at retail.

NP. How do you find out more about this?

Much less expensive, and if the planets align, super efficient. But when they don't it is a nightmare from hell.

try costco! they have online rx and local rx (don't have to be a member of costco to use there pharmacy). cheapest i've found, at least.
