| OMG, toddler's aunt got edamame at a restaurant. She loved it. She ate so much of it. I bought some frozen, steamed tonight, but read the package and it said it was soybeans, We avoid soybeans and corn like it's the plague because most soyboeans and corn are GMO even if they are labeled organic. I thought it was a vegetable. I'm so silly. It was green. Like green beans. But, those probably aren't vegetables either!!! I just made green beans, too!!! Grrrrr. |
| Chill. Step away from the quinoa and kefir. Slowly back up. Eat a cheeseburger. You will feel so much better. |
| I hope you haven't been eating tofu. |
I like you! |
| Is be more worried about it messing with your estrogen but that's just me. Eating it every now and then is totally fine. If you eat that and nothing else for years at a time, then you might have problems. |
|
I too avoid soy for the estrogen issue (not the GMO issue) we get endamame from Costco and use it as a speedy veggie when in a crunch for time. We also eat a good amount of fermented soy.
It is fine. I think it is more of a problem for people who eat a ton of processed foods that of course use soy as the main filler. |
Soy beans -- like all of the other beans -- can be counted as a vegetable. 1 cup of beans is 1 serving of vegetables. |
I put legumes n the carb bucket. Ill do meat, beans and greens. I consider legumes same way I view potatoes. |
I view them the same way I view meat, except healthier, cheaper, and humane. |

I view this post as satire, which should be served in reasonable portions with a grain of salt.
In case you're serious, OP, "edamame" is the Japanese word for "steamed young soy beans in the pod". |
And edamame should be served with salt as well. |
| The United States and Canadian governments do NOT allow companies to label products “100% / Certified Organic” if they contain genetically modified foods. |
