eyebrow grooming

Anonymous
I've always had fine, light eyebrows and never bothered grooming them... didn't have to. Now they seem a bit more unruly and I've tried tweezing them a bit but I don't think I'm doing a great job. Just wanted to poll: how many of you go get your eyebrows done verus doing it at home? If you get it done, how often do you need to do it and how much does it cost? Thanks.

I have quite unruly eyebrows, but I don't get them done as much as I'd like. I might go out and get them done once a year, and then just try to keep them up myself for as long as possible. At some point, they get away from me and, usually when something interesting/important is going to happen, I go back and have them done professionally again.

Cost: somewhere between $15-30 maybe - OK its been a while and I'm not positive about DC prices.

I get it done every 2.5 to 3 weeks for $20 + tip. I think I used to stretch it out to once a month when I was in my 20s, but I feel like my aging face (35) benefits from (needs?) more precise grooming now.

To the pp's: where do you go and what do you do to prevent the brows from getting too thin (over-groomed) over time?

I don't go that often (maybe once every 2-3 months) but I could go more. I have thick dark eyebrows that are uneven and need to be handled by a professional! I have a friend whose eyebrows are similar and she would go into some random nail place where no one spoke English and end up with HORRIBLE eyebrows. This is not an area to skimp-go to a spa or really good place for this by a licensed esthesian (I know I'm spelling that wrong)
I go to Toni at Perez Salon in Congressional Plaza in Rockville. She is amazing and does it perfect every time!

Wow, I just go to the regular old nail salon near my house and pay $8+ tip and I think they do a fine job. You have to find the right person at these places, but they have been fine for me.

I Anglocise my eyebrows at home with a pair of tweezers. I've been doing it this way for years. At one point I shaped them pretty drastically, and everything after that is just maintenance.

I do too (except my nail place charges $12, I think?). I just tell them to clean them up, not too thin, and they do a fine job. I think I have pretty easy brows, though. I probably go once every two or three months or before an important event, and tweeze in between.
