OP here.DS gets constipated/sleepy/cranky with OTC and was wondering if the prescription would have fewer side effects. |

| Probably not. All antihystamines can cause the drying out (which causes the constipation). And same with the mood issues. How old is he? He may hate having something sprayed up his nose, but Flonase is awesome, combine with some eye drops when needed and he should be good to go. |

| Yes, we tried a bunch and had trouble with side effects. My dd does well on allegra. She has side effects for a week or so, then she seems fine. Her side effects are more behavioral. |

Are they worse than her behavior when her allergies are bad? How old is your daughter? If she is 5 or older, she can be tested. I highly recommend Dr. Henry Fishman. He is awesome with kids and can help you find the right medicine for your child that balances symptom control and side effects. |
