| I need someone to help me pick out paint for the whole house, and ensure the colors flow. I'm open to brands, and am thinking I want the colors to have a muted gray undertone. Can anyone recommend a place to go where someone there can help me select the colors? I'm not looking to pay for a designer, just a knowledgeable person at a paint store. TIA! |
| Color Wheel in Mclean Village. But might make an appointment. Sell Benjamin Moore and Farrow and Ball. |

Strosenider's Hardware in Bethesda. The color person will help you get started in the store, then you privately book a one hour consultation at your house to finalize the colors. If you do the consultation, Strosenider's will give you a discount on any paint you buy.
An hour-long consultation is a lot cheaper than a designer. |
I guess, but lots of designers do short color consultations. But if Strosnider's allows you to transfer the $ to paint, then I guess that's basically free. |
| Potomac Paint Stores in Alexandria, Arlington and Vienna will help you with paint selections in store. But for $100 you can have someone come to your home and pick out the colors in your light. It saves you money in picking out the wrong paint colors. |
| I have gotten great advice from Potomac Paint in Arlington. I had that conversation that was like that tv paint commercial (" I want a purple that's purrrple but not puuurple, right?") and she got me exactly the shade of the color I was looking for. |
| Color Wheel and Strosnieders are both great. |
| I've had good luck with a woman at the Benjamin Moore shop on Connecticut in Chevy Chase. She helped me narrow my pallet and has helped me pick specific shades when I gave her parameters for what I was looking for. She's great. |
| Www.arlingtoncolorconsultants.com - she is great |
