Hi. I'm hosting a baby shower from 3-5 pm and need menu ideas. I will be serving cake and fruit for dessert, coffee, tea, etc. but am trying to figure out what else to serve. Feel like crudites and cheese and crackers are a little boring so looking for other ideas Thanks!

- mini quiches / mini savory tarts (Trader Joe's has good ones in the freezer section - esp the goat cheese + caramelized onion ones, YUM)
- caprese skewers (grape tomatoes, mozz balls, and a basil leaf, drizzled with olive oil, salt + pepper, and/or balsamic) - pita points with hummus / caponata / baba ghanoush and some dipping veggies |
|
Here is a menu:
- Cold Pasta Dish (easy, inexpensive, works as a side and also main dish for vegtarians) One I like is cheese tortellini, boiled drained. Add can of diced tomatoes, cup of chopped green peppers, cucumbers. - Chicken Breast Grilled or order a bunch of the Chicken Wingettes from Costco Everyone loves chicken and this is an easy finger food - Chilled Shrimp Cocktail - can also buy at costco, good finger food and compliments any of the other dishes - Spinach Salad - Fresh spinach, cranberries, almonds, have dressing on the side - Crackers, Cheese, Cold Cut or Veggie Platter w/ dip |
PP again. Oops, forgot a major ingredient! |
This is a two hour thing during non meal time. All this seems like way too much food. OP I would keep thing simple and just do a fruit tray, veggie tray with dip, 2 or 3 types of crackers, 2 or 3 types of cheeses, a couple of bowls of nuts, same with candies, and then the dessert you mentioned. |
Thanks for the suggestions

| Yes I would do veggie tray, fruit tray, cheese & crackers, maybe a spinach/artichoke dip or something. Mini quiche or captures skewers would be fun too |
| Just gave lots of alcohol on hand. |
| ^^ have |
| I did a baby shower like this recently and did some finger sandwiches - egg salad, chicken salad, and cucumber with cream cheese. They were a hit, and cheap and easy to prepare as well! |
| I would vote for finger foods like the first PP suggested. Heavy apps. |
