I have been thinking about joining a gym for some time and am finally ready to take the plunge. Both of the gyms I am considering offer a free pass to try out the facilities, but I'm wondering what I can expect when I go. Will someone give me a tour? Will they show me how to use the equipment or just leave me on my own? Will they go over the prices of the plans with me before or after I work out, and how hard will it be to get out of there without a commitment?
Any information or advice you can give me is appreciated! Thanks. |
They will give you a tour and show you the facility . Some may ask for a deposit that you will get back if you don't decide to join the gym. Some gyms do not include classes with the free pass.
Depends on the gym. I have been to some that will give you a significant hard sell first before they allow you to work out. Some don't. Just be prepared to tack on an extra 20-30 minutes before you work out. They will easily let you leave but will follow up with phone calls.
It's unlikely they will show you how to use anything. You'll meet with a membership team member, not a trainer.
Tour then hard sell on buying a contract membership.
