Information on Appeal

Anonymous
If you would have to appeal, what ifnormation would you include :

. Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale
•Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC IV)
•Cognitive Assessment System (CAS)
•Kaufman Assessment Battery
•Differential Ability Scale (DAS)

or any achievement tests, if so which ones. Does any one of the tests have more weight than the others ? Have you done any and do you have any comments on those.

WISC if the scores are good

Let's say the WISc scores are good. What other information is required to appeal?

*NEW* information is required to appeal. WISC scores (that were not included as part of the original screening file) would be that new information.

Got in today, but two years ago I was now working on an appeal. In addition to the NEW scores, I thought my letter about WHY my DC needed AAP was helpful. Also, it made me feel better to get my thoughts together and down on paper so I could articulate what I already felt.

Just curious PP for those of us that might be in your spot.
What grade is your kid?
How many times did you appeal?
What NEW scores did you have? (you didn't have those scores the first time you appealed?)

Thank you! (and congrats on getting your kid in)

WISC 126 / 96%-tile won't be enough, will it? Sigh.

I couldn't understand this question until I read it a few times, but then I got it! Let me clarify, I appealed and was successful two years ago for my older child. The younger got in on the first round. I have a 4th and a 2nd grader!

Sorry, I didn't mean to be confusing!

Well, it might not be a slam dunk, but it's certainly worth trying. Is there any other "new information" you can include - specifically letters of recommendation or a more detailed letter from you about why your child needs AAP? As long as you don't exceed the 5 total limit, you can still submit these items.
