Question about realtors that manage properties

Anonymous
One of my properties is managed by a realtor local to the area, which I love. I don't get the horror stories of the big property management companies. She lives within a mile of the property, drives by it every day on her way home, and very attentive.

However, I gather that the main reason realtors get into the business of managing properties is for the hope that they will one day get to sell it and make the real money off of it. I just wonder if after a while, she will start to resent the fact that I'm not selling. Like is this an expectation of realtors that they will get to sell it in a few years after starting to rent it? Or are they just happily doing it mainly for the steady income from the management fee to supplement their inconsistent income from home sales?

I had no idea that realtors would do this. How much do you pay for it?

I think it's mainly a way to diversify the revenue of the business. If it leads to new clients who are selling their house, all the better.

I'm an agent in another market who does this. I added property management to my business as a way to diversify my income. I'm totally happy if you sell or don't sell. I make money either way. Actually, if you don't sell, I make more in the long run.
