Girl Becomes Porn Star to Pay for Duke Education

Anonymous
Rolling Stone just ran a profile of Miriam Weeks aka Belle Knox, who is paying for her college education by acting in porn films. She says that the treatment she is getting on campus - the weird looks, slut shaming, etc. - by other members of the Duke community is hypocritical. As a staunch feminist, she says she has every right to do what she wants with her body, what she is doing is legal and she is a consenting adult who has made her decision to do porn for the money. Should there be shame in this? Or do we say, good on you girl! Follow your dreams?

What does it matter? She is an adult, what she is doing is legal, and she isn't forced to do it.

I guess I am too busy to spend too much time trolling the Internet to see such stories. So, I see them when my hard copy of RS comes in the mail.

I say Her Body...Her Business...Her Choice.

BUT...

She should be prepared to reap the consequences of her choices. I believe her plan is to become an attorney. Okay, but don't be shocked when no one takes you seriously and wants to hire you as an attorney.

And the feminist crap is just that. No feminist allows herself to be degraded on film sexually for money.

Wouldn't this be something the bar could decline to admit you into for "character" reasons? Obviously many people do this, but she's been very public about this.

How could they turn her down for character reasons if she works for a legitimate company, pays taxes on her earnings and reports that she worked there? If it's legal, they can't ding her for it.

Yeah they can. Being a porn star isn't a protected class. Hell, even the banks are discriminating against porn actors by making them close accounts, etc. There's such a shame and stigma in being in that business.

That campus birthed Tucker Max. How many sleazy books has he sold? I'd like to hear what the people who have a problem with this woman have to say about Tucker.

You work for the money, put it in the bank and get a paltry 1-2% interest on your money while the bank invests YOUR money and comes back with double digit returns.

Sound familiar? Banks pimping is their business!
