| Looking at the Rockville location...thinking about a membership...any experiences? |
| DH and I have both been to the Reston location and had good experiences. We just did the introductory massage - the membership is a good value if you think you'll make time to go once a month. Def cheaper than most salons and we both had good massages. I ultimately decided it was a luxury I didn't need right now, but if I had chronic pain/tightness, I would definitely consider it. |

I'm intrigued - didn't know there was one of those in this area.
Sorry if I'm hijacking - I am interested in experiences too, but does anyone have any idea about a ballpark cost per month? Or can you buy a bulk number to use within a time frame or something? |

I tried it for the first time this month and was very pleased. I was also four weeks post pregnancy so I was dying for a massage. I received a year membership as a gift. There is a 3-month membership as well at $49 a month. If you are interested in a massage more expensive you can "cash in" your $49 coupons or pay the difference as I understand. For example, my ME offers a hot stone treatment for $98.
The location I visited (NoVA) had a tranquil setting and your standard relaxation music playing in the background. I found the staff to be very friendly. This is not a five-star spa in my opinion. However, if you want a decent to good massage and like convenience it's your best bet. The late weekday and weekend hours make it attractive. Every mom needs a break so best of luck with your decision. |
ETA: four months post delivery. |

I did one of the Introductory offers at the NOVA Massage Envy. It was a very nice massage. However, I will warn you that it is kind of like going to a Time Share presentation. You know...where you get something free but then they try to get you to buy in? They do every trick in the book for the hard, pressure sell - Making you feel guilty, showing you how it will save you money, trying to get you to sign on the dotted line right then rather than thinking about.
So if you are planning on getting the membership, I've heard nice things about it. I have a few friends that go every month and never miss a massage. But if you are just going in to get the one cheap massage or are on the fence about whether to shell out the montly expense, be prepared to be able to say "No" or "Let me think about it." |
