I have a couple events next month where I need to dress nice (Normally I don't! ). These events are various church events, one son is receiving first communion and the other his confirmation. The dress I will be wearing is a "little black dress" (more "sophisticated" than "sexy"). Similar to this one
http://www.bluefly.com/tahari-asl-black-stretch-crepe-cap-sleeve-dress/p/326560601/detail.fly I am looking for new shoes to go with it, and was thinking basic black heels. I'm not a fan of very pointy toed shoes, but I don't want to look too "dated" either. What do you think? http://www.zappos.com/sam-edelman-camdyn-black-leather I'm 38 years old, if that makes a difference. |

OP here---would these be too much? |

i think the sam edelman's are a little too safe/sedate. the nina's aren't my style (i don't like ankle straps), but i get the look that poster is going for -- spectator heels. (i googled, but the only ones i found and liked her $580 -- oh well....)

I've heard these are supremely comfy. The "croc" version would make them more interesting without being as in your face as the leopard. http://www.zappos.com/sam-edelman-opal-black-leather D'orsay is "in", too. |
| I think you can never go wrong with a slingback. |
| I like 13:41's choices. |
| Go with a nude/bronze shoe. Looks great with a black dress. |

OP here
Thanks! I'm not too into the croc or snakeskin type of patterns, but I do like this one that pp recommended http://www.zappos.com/sam-edelman-opal-black-leather And I like the idea of a nude shoe, with maybe some black accents like http://www.zappos.com/aldo-canapile-beige http://www.zappos.com/anne-klein-elane-ivory-black-leather or something alone those lines... Thanks for the nude suggestion! |
