In home chef prepared dinner recs

Anonymous
I'm thinking about doing this for my DH's upcoming birthday - we have a 5 month old and it just seems easier than trying to go out and more special occasionish since someone else is doing the cooking. Has anyone done this and can give some recs? We are adventurous eaters and don't have restrictions. I'd like to hire someone that isn't super $$$ but then again, I don't know how much these things typically cost. I am in MoCo but close to DC. Thanks!

Ann Godfrey is terrific but she just drops the meals off. I received a *gift certificate* for her when I was pregnant, and loved it so much that it is one of my go-to gifts. Ann.Godfrey@verizon.net

Does Ann Godfrey have a web page or do you have any basic info about her (cost, general kinds of food, etc.)?

I did it about 6 yrs ago for DHs 40th. DD was 6 months and it was perfect. I nursed and put her to bed as necessary. I think it cost me around $400 for dinner for 4 not including wine. If I remember I looked on ther personal
Chef association website and called a few people that would work with my menu ideas and budget.

I did this for our 5th anniversary - DD was 4 mos old. It was perfect. The chef made a 4 course meal, DD nursed and napped while we ate. I randomly found the guy and he made a great vegetarian meal (per our request) for us. I'll look up his info and post in a bit. I think it costs us $250 and we tipped $25.

We did it 3 years ago and it looks like his prices may have gone up a bit.

Thanks for the link and info on your experience! I'm willing to pay a bit on the higher side for a nice quality meal without the stress of going out!
