Hello everyone,
I am making a fish/seafood dish.. probably quite carb heavy too, so will use pastry or pasta etc. Any ideas for a dessert? Not chocolate please, but anything else really. As long as it complements the main course that would be great. Any areas? This is for Saturday night by the way! Thank you. |
Lemon meringue pie. |
French macarons and berry fruit salad.
Almond skillet cake- super super easy. Tastes like light almond shortbread. Some sort of fruit mousse cake - probably purchased. Key lime pie. Make or purchase. Anything lemony/cirtus or tart will complement the fish and a heavier meal. Make your favorite cookie and serve a grapefruit salad (grapefruit segments, raspberries, a dash or simple syrup) |

David Guas's lemon icebox pie. He owns Bayou Bakery in Arlington. Recipe is in his cookbook and on epicurious. Delicious and gorgeous! |
Sorry, Food and Wine, not epicurious. |
Bowl of strawberries with homemade vanilla whipped cream. ...yum. |
Lemon curd with whipped cream and fresh raspberries. Simple, light, tart, and refreshing. We always have it with salmon on Mother's Day. |

ha ha this reminds me of that ice cream challenge scene in "City Slickers" where the "Ben and Jerry" guys have to pick the perfect dessert to follow halibut. Rum raisin ice cream, of course. |
