Memorial Day as a Snow Make-up Day?

I've heard that some independents are reclaiming Memorial Day as a snow make-up day. Does anyone know which schools are doing so?

I am at a school that has (SSFS). For about 30 seconds I was indignant. And then...it dawned on me that I had the day off, and DH has the day off...and the child has school. A whole day of adult vacation. Now I'm pretty pleased.

It would be great if the schools in session on Memorial Day take this good opportunity to use some time out of their classes that day to teach and reflect on the history and meaning of the national day of remembrance.

Sidwell is using Memorial Day as a snow makeup day as well.
