Recommend Dr. to perform CVS?

Anonymous
If you did CVS (chorionic villus sample) testing could you share your experiences with the Dr. who performed the procedure? Would you do it again with him or her? I am trying to find someone with alot of experience and good outcomes doing this particular procedure.

We live in the DC area but would consider traveling out of the area if need be.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I did a CVS with Dr. Evelyn Karson a couple of months ago and I would do it again with her. She is fantastic, very knowleable and caring. I think she does tons of them. We were not sure about doing it and she gave us all the necessary information and gave us time to make an informed decision. I don't regret it, it was a great experience (I did not feel a thing) and a great relief to know everything was fine so early (11 weeks) into my pregnancy. She even called me at home at 9 PM the day she got the results because she did not want me to worry anymore. You probably will hear from others that she talks too much, perhaps, but hey, she knows her stuff and isn't it great to have a doctor that actually cares and takes the time to give you all the info you need? I strongly recommend her. Her office is near Rockville on Old Georgetown Road (Close to Balducci's)

OP here. I'm so sorry-- I posted this on the wrong forum. My apologies.

My husband and I drove to Phili to have the CVS at Thomas Jefferson-Dr. Baxter. TJ were pioneers in the CVS and my RE and his wife went there for the CVS. I knew my baby was in good hands, and me of course.

Dr. Pinkert w/ Maternal Fetal Medicine is awesome - he did my CVS and my friend's amnio (after a GW doc botched her CVS), and operated on another friend's baby in utero. (All babies are fine, BTW)

I also used Greater Washington Maternal Fetal Medicine. I had Dr. Gallagher and he was fantastic. I've seen Dr. Pinckert at other times and he's also excellent. Best of luck, hope everything turns out well!

Another vote for the people at Thomas Jefferson in Philly. Several docs recommended them as the experts/pioneers and said if it was feasible to travel, to do so. So we did -- up and back in one day with no problem. Just don't do the driving back yourself. It's not painful, but uncomfortable and of course a little nerve racking. Best wishes.
