MIT Graduates to Auto Mechanics

Boy, I bet you would be proud if your sons graduated from MIT and the best they could do was open their own garage. See Maglozzi, Tom and Magliozzi, Ray for defintions of succes thinking outside the box rather going on to be some sort of corporate drone.

This is news?

I would. A good mechanic is hard to find, and they can make really good money. I'd love to have a mechanic in the family - I'd save a ton on car repairs.

My boyfriend is a mechanic. Obviously he didn't go to MIT, but I do love his job in that he can always take my car in just to get looked at and make sure nothing is wrong, do oil changes and other small stuff in the driveway really quickly, and I know I'm not getting ripped off when I do pay for repairs! Also, discounts at Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone. The dirty hot mechanic thing when he comes home from work ain't too bad either

Since it ended two years ago, that is not good.

I would be proud of any kid with any education who found something that supported his/her lifestyle and made him/her happy, regardless of the kid's educational background.

Happiness is so so so much more than traditional corporate success.
