How much does your school's PTA raise?

I'm curious what the range is in schools across the city. I'd love to know what the ballpark numbers are. And also what the money is used for. TIA!

Many of the 99% FARM EOTP schools I toured were right around $10k--and that was with a lot of work on behalf of a few very involved members. Obviously, it's vastly different in wealthier school zones.

Wealthier schools in NW are targeting $1,000 per child. See for eg. Janney.

Wow, $600k for Janney?

Does Janney's PTA have a paid staff? Between $40k in admin costs and this statement, "sufficient reserves for one year of PTA salaries," what's what it sounds like.

So interesting.

^^It's worth paying staff if they can raise that much money.

Our WOTP school raises $300,000. Used to pay for extra teachers (2 teachers in every class), art and science teacher, etc.

At our high school we solely don't depend on our PTA to raise funds. We gave boosters that are raising money too. This school year collectively they have raised about 50k.

I think they mean they pay the salaries of school staf - in addition to what DCPS budget covers.

So interesting.

this makes it sound like the PTA people get a salary from the funds raised. which, is likely very smart since they pull in so much money.
