if you got pregnant with a CGH normal embryo

Anonymous
do you still do all the prenatal screenings like Nuchal and the quad bloodwork etc. Presumably you already know the embryo doesn't have trisomy 13, 18, 21 etc.? or the maternity 21 maternal DNA test etc?

The official RE party line is to do all the testing because there is a small chance the CGH testing was not accurate.

I did NT scan and Verifi, which confirmed CGH. I wouldn't have done any invasive testing.

And agreed RE invasive testing- def wouldn't do amnio or cvs

Our clinic claimed 95% accuracy for CGH testing and advised doing amnio in all cases of pregnancy with CGH-normal embryos. On top of everything our embryo split so identical twins, and I decided to do the CVS or amnio. To decide between the two I used my first trimester screen + NT - my numbers were very good, so I decided to do the amnio. MFM specialist agreed with my choice since he claimed amnio is much easier on woman and baby (or babies).

The cell-free DNA screens are not offered to multiples. However, even if they were, I would not have foregone the diagnostic tests in favor of those as they are still experimental, and I wanted to have a definitive answer.

It really depends on how comfortable you are with the small chance of an adverse outcome.

Verifi is a cell-free fetal DNA test, as is Matenti21. Several companies do the testing. Verifi is just another name brand.

We only did the NT scan but the eggs we used were from a 26-year-old donor. If they'd been my 40-year-old eggs I might have done more testing, even with a CGH normal.

When can you do the Verifi/Maternity 21 test, and how much does it cost (I am under 35)? Thanks. Can you do before 12 weeks?

Are you the POAS poster?

I know this is all nerve wracking, but you should really do yourself a favor and step away from the internet. I was so much happier once I did that.
