pregnant but no breast pain or nausea

I am 5 weeks pregnant with my second child and am concerned that I am not feeling any nausea or breast discomfort, as I did with my first pregnancy. is this normal or should I be concerned?

If it were me, I would get my hormone levels checked right away so that I could supplement if that was a problem.

I never had any breast discomfort during pregnancy at all, and the nausea didn't start until 6-7 weeks. So I think it's normal. Enjoy it - you might be puking your guts out in a few weeks and thinking back on this time with envy. Congrats on the pregnancy!

Hi, I am almost 8 weeks pregnant and I don't have any nausea either. I told my OB that I was very concerned about not having any morning sickness b/c I read that morning sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy. My OB replied: "where did you read that? throw away that book! that is absolutely not true", she then went on to say that out of her 3 pregnancies she was only sick with her 3rd one and had no symptoms for her 2 other pregnancies. So don't worry too much.
As for me, I tell myself that as long as I have no bleeding, I am fine.

I'm with the the pp. I've had 3 miscarriages and I am now on my third full term pregnancy -- only 1 pregnancy left me with slight nausea, all the others were/are symptom free.

I am pregnant with #2 and both the type and frequency of my pregnancy symptoms have been totally different this time than with my first. With #1, I felt tired and nauseous right away, but this time, until I hit the 6 week mark, i didn't even feel pregnant at all, then WHOA- I felt much much worse than i did with #1.

Incidentally for these reasons DH and I were convinced this baby would be a different sex than #1, and we were right!

OP, I was you at 5 weeks, wondering when the nausea would set in! This is my first pregnancy but I ended up with mild nausea and only a little bit of breast tenderness up until week 8. At that time the unrelenting, all day nausea hit. I am 12 weeks 5 days and this afternoon I threw up for the first time. Seems to me that pregnancy symptoms are laid out in books according to some averaging out of all women's symptoms, but the truth is there are so many dramatic variations to this, it's crazy. Maybe 30 percent or so of all women do not get any nausea at all. While nausea and sickness IS a sign of a healthy pregnancy according to my OB, the lack thereof is NOT a sign of the converse. It's just a sign of luck.

A PP said to get your hormone levels checked out is probably jumping the gun, anyway (no offense intended at all b/c I'm sure she is trying to help you). I think that's on the early side even for the women who do get nausea.

One last thought -- this is my first pregnancy, but friends of mine going through second or beyond pregnancies said not only did they have less breast pain, their breasts actually didn't even really grow very much. I've read this is common.

this is 13:31 here again. One more thing to add: My mom got mild nausea with me early, and it lasted throughout her pregnancy. She had no nausea with either of my brothers. My stepmom had no nausea at all with any of her pregancies (one boy one girl). My friend who recently delivered had no nausea with either of her pregnancies either (two girls). Good luck to you for a happy and healthy pregnancy -- I hope your nausea stays mild or nonexistent and you have other signs of reassurance. You're only 3 weeks away from first ultrasound, right?
