Any restaurant recommendations for a good classic eggs benedict at a Saturday brunch? Looking to go this AM. Old Town Alexandria, NW/SW DC, Springfield, Tyson's area. TIA
I like Cafe Deluxe or Clyde's.
Not in Old Town, but Del Ray Cafe is very good. http://www.delraycafe.com/our-menus/brunch/
I think I'll try Clyde's today, like their PM food but never had brunch there before. Cafe Deluxe looks good too, and EB on sourdough, yum. Will have to keep them on the list. Thanks!
Appreciate the recs, Del Ray looks good too. I'm starving. I think I'm going to have to bookmark this thread for future ref, a few tasty options and always looking for a good EB. Thanks
I think Cafe Deluxe's hollandaise sauce is terrible. I don't know if it isn't homemade or what, but I hate their eggs Benedict because of it. I like a lot of their other food, though (like the tuna tacos).
There's always Chef Geoff's too

OP here, I ended up going to Old Town - Union Street Public House. I was too hungry to wait for Clyde's to open and DH didn't want anything from Del Ray cafe menu. Overall it was pretty good, and satisfied my craving. Didn't like their potatoes at all, but they had really good pancakes too, tasted like a mix between a pancake and a crepe.
To the PP about Cafe Deluxe, their online menu says hollandaise sauce is tomato based so that could be the off-putting factor you experienced. |
Old thread, bumping for more recs.
Founding Farmers!
Blue duck tavern. So good.
Bistro D'OC, great eggs bene and I love their fries.
Monroe's
