How do you find people that are interested in interracial dating?

Are you a black man or overweight white woman?

Sorry, it was a joke. For some reason I thought of Lisa Lampinelli...

I would date someone I was interested in because of their personality, not their skin color.

-half of an interracial couple, married 9 years.

I'm also AA. A good site to check out for advice is http://www.beyondblackwhite.com/

I've dated men of all ethnicities (even East Asian). The trick is to show that you are willing to date outside your race. I basically advertised my open-mindedness by socializing in areas where there weren't many black men. If I met an AA guy there who was interesting, fine. If I didn't, I usually met one or two non-black guys who were.

My current partner is AA/mixed (he's 3/4 black) but I was married before to a white guy.

You are absolutely correct. I wouldn't marry because of skin color, however, I think it is wise to venture out and have options.

I am a white guy that has dated black women. I met them and it just sort of happened. There was no magic or mystery to it.

If you are in the dc area, it's really not that difficult.

+1

White men here seem more accustomed to black women who are well-educated, cosmopolitan, etc.

I've heard from AA female friends about really ignorant comments from white men ("Can you twerk for me?"), but they were usually not from white men in DC.

I do get some lame comments about black female celebrities that they somehow think I resemble despite no similarity in skin color, weight, or hair texture, but it's more creative than "Ai, Mami." so I just shake my head and keep stepping.

OP I recommend trying online dating, I never limit based on race or ethnicity and I receive a lot of matches with guys from all over the spectrum. I don't know if it has to do with demographics of online dating or the fact that many people do limit who they are matched with but I have found dating online to be far more diverse an experience.

I disagree. AA women get the lowest rate of responses in most mainstream online dating sites. Asian males get the second lowest. If you want to up your chances of getting responses from anyone of any race, get on a site that is either specific to interracial dating or to men looking for black women.
