money orders

I am sure this is a stupid question - please answer it anyway!

I have to buy a money order for a licensing fee. When I go to buy it do I have to designate a recipient? Having trouble googling this for some reason. I am not sure who I am supposed to make it out to, if I do have to designate a recipient. I was going to call the office and ask but realized maybe I don't need to designate a recipient at all - I am not familiar with how money orders work.

No. You just pay the money and get the money order. You can get them at grocery stores, USPS, etc.

Buy it at the Post Office. They will be happy to answer all of your questions!!

No, you don't have to designate a recipient, just tell the cashier the amount and give them the cash. I usually buy them from 7-11 or the post office.

I was planning on doing it at the post office but didn't want to show up without a name/address to designate the money order to, if that is required.

Thanks for the info!
