My baby is 3 and a half months old and I bought her one-piece cotton pajamas with long sleeves and a polyester sleep sack also with long sleeves. Is it safe for baby to wear both if the temperature is 70F? I strongly prefer her to wear cotton in contact with her skin.
yes |
I don't think it's really a safety issue... I would think that you'd need more than that to overheat him/her. I'm a hot-blooded person and dress my baby in the way I'd like to be dressed. Cotton pjs and a fleece sleepsack. Likewise, our house is set at 70.
just check the back of the baby's neck at some point. If the neck is really hot or cold, that's a good sign in general to add or remove clothing. Those clothes sound a tiny bit warmer than I'd have used -- we did sleep sack with no sleeves. But I could misremember.
We also did a no-sleeve sleep sack, and our room temperature was a bit lower (68?). But what you're doing sounds fine.
So long as the temp is ok and baby doesn't overheat, yes, it's fine.
