Priceline booked but we are 2 kids 2 adults

Anonymous
I just booked a room through priceline but have done some reading since and didn't even think about this issue. Now I'm worried that we could get turned away. Anyone had any issues with the hotel you booked through Priceline when travellign with 2 adults 2 kids? Apparently priceline guarentees double occupancy but that could mean just one bed. We need two we have a teenager and an elementary aged kid.

If it matters we booked at the Mills House in Charleston.

Why wouldn't you make sure that the room you're getting has enough beds for all of you?? That's like me just calling up the nearest hotel and saying "I want a room please!" and expecting them to know that I need two beds.

Call the hotel.

Just call the hotel and give them your preference - worse case scenario is that they will have to provide cots for the kids, but unlikely. King beds are usually the first to go.

I just decided not to book through priceline because of this. The hotel listing said the bed would be a queen or full. It states rooms will accommodate 2 adults.

They don't ask that information when you use priceline. I'll admit, it was a huge mistake on my part but I didn't even think about it until afterwards when I was reading the small print.

I've done some googling and seems like most people travelling with 2 kids don't have a problem unless you are somewhere liek NYC.

I'll call the Hotel today.

I did see on the Hotel website that they offer cots if requested. That's good to know!

When I know I definitely need space for 4 I use hotwire as they will guarantee 2 beds.

We booked Mills House through Priceline at Thanksgiving. Call the hotel tell them you want 2 beds in a renovated room

This happened to us over the weekend, and ended up with a king, no double rooms available. We did have a roll up so we were spared!

If you book thru third parties, you usually can't guarantee bed number.

I went to NYC with 3 girlfriends a bunch of years ago (like 2002). We booked a room through priceline and it was a steal, like $80. However, it had one double bed and the hotel didn't have any other rooms. We made do with cushions from the chair and a rollaway, but it's definitely a downside of priceline.

Yeah...since having kids we never book through priceline.

I use PL all the time .... dozens of times. The odds are that you will get a room with two beds. Otherwise, you can get a rollaway bed/s at an extra charge. Take a couple of sleeping bags with you as a fall-back.

Call the hotel and indicate your preference for two beds. They will not guarantee it but more often than not they will honor it.

I called and requested 2 doubles and they said no problem. I didn't think to ask for a renovated room though, I just assumed the entire Hotel was renovated. Darn!! How can I tell if I'm in a renovated room or not? Will it be obvious?
