Antagonistic poster

Hi Jeff - don't know if you can do this, but it would be helpful. On this thread http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/377993.page there seems to be one poster who is responding to basically every comment that's pro-sleep training, derailing the conversation. First post is at 10:29 on the first page. Is it possible to see how many times that person's posted / if it's just one poster being so antagonistic?

I am one of those posters -- and I have been told to SHUT.THE.FUCK.UP, and worse on that thread, multiple times. It's interesting that you don't find that antagonistic. There is more than just me posting against CIO.

There's one person who is responding to basically every comment, refusing to cite data, accusing OP and others of child abuse, etc. Don't know if it is you or not.

No, I was not on for over 12 hours, then came back online to multiple back and forth with new poster(s), which I responded to. I don't know why you think no one else shares a view that is different from yours, but I was not the only poster with my POV.

I haven't even read the thread in question, just saw this post on the recent topics. I will say that I can't stand the "citation please" poster. Dude, this isn't court and no one named you judge or senior partner. If you want data , google it yourself.

Okay, so that's a 13 page thread. I've only gotten to the second message. Everyone could do me a really big favor by immediately reporting threads in which the second post begins, "You're a dumbass". It is a lot easier to catch these things early.

Okay, maybe I'm a jerk. I don't know. I got to page two and decided to delete the entire thread. I couldn't take it any longer. People were calling each other names and generally behaving like idiots. Let's try to raise the level of discourse a bit.

Too bad - I really thought it was interesting to see how people were dealing with this issue since there seem to be a lot of us on the same page. Just seems one person really derailed - was curious how often that one was posting. Oh well. Thanks for looking into!

I get it that you are used to dominating others into not participating in the conversation when they don't agree with you, but if you don't want to listen to others voice their opinions, then don't post on or read a public forum. It was clear that was your major beef with that thread -- that first one, then more than one person actually held a different opinion than you did, and would not "just STOP" even though you wanted them all to. If you were concerned about antagonism, then you would have objected to all the hateful, insulting and name calling posts on your side of the argument. This is a public forum -- if you want someone to just STOP then don't read it.

NP here. Just to set the record straight, the poster PP is inquiring about called people who sleep train "evil" along with epithets of similar meaning. I think "dumbass" is nothing compared to that, and "shut the fuck up" an understandable (if not very classy) response to such insults.

I never called anyone evil -- that was one of the other posters (which OP here claims did not exist). I didn't do any name calling. I would never call someone a "dumbass" or say "SHUT THE FUCK UP" to make my point, like your side did. I seriously don't see how it is necessary just because someone disagrees with you. I was insulted and called names on almost every post. I DID say that if you have to resort to that kind of insult as a response, that it speaks volumes about the lack of a good argument for your side and the kind of people who hold those beliefs. I wish Jeff had gone through the thread -- almost every. single. post on this OP's side contained an insult.
