I gave my toddler a part of my wallet in the car. I had to get to bed asap, so she kept ahold of that part of my wallet. In the morning, I found it soaking wet in the tub. DH said he thought I gave it to her as a toy. It had lots of cards in it, was leather, and I carry it in my purse. Doh.

Wtf?
Um, you were an idiot to give her your wallet
Despite any loyalty to my gender, that was just stupid on DH's part.

I don't understand when parents hand their young children valuable items like car keys, wallets and cell phones and then are upset when the kid loses or damages them.
I'm sorry.
Sounds like something my DH would do. Sigh.
So DH got kid out of the car, gave her a bath, and did bedtime while you went straight to bed from the car? Sign me up.
Both dumb moves--don't give your kid things you really don't want them to play with and don't put a wallet in the tub.
Natural consequences for you -- giving a young child something valuable that they then destroy.

Dump the kid.

Sooo...YOU gave her the wallet but it is DH's fault because he did not take it from her?
Yea....ok. |
