I've stayed there a couple of times in the off season, and been to the restaurants many time, and it is a very nice hotel/resort. I assume you are looking at summer? Chatham is a great town for kids (we have a house there and kids have been going every summer since they were babies). The only drawback of the CBI is that Shore Road divides the main hotel and the beach/pool area. In the summer there can be a lot of traffic on Shore Road. The pool is nice, the beach in front of the hotel is pretty good for small kids because it is a protected harbor (barrier island across the way). They have a couple of boats and will shuttle you to other beaches if you want. There is also a beach in town that tends to attract all the families with small kids (Oyster Pond). There is a wonderful band concert at the bandstand in town every Friday in July and August that is totally kid friendly (dances for kids, etc.). The food in the main dining room at CBI is excellent, although pricey as you would expect. The food at the beach club is not great. There are lots of restaurants in Chatham, although they can be crowded in summer. Only other thing you should be aware of is that a lot of the rooms at CBI are actually in "houses" on the property. I like the house rooms better than the hotel rooms as they are larger. Some are on the hotel side of the street and some are on the beach side of the street.

OP Here: Thanks. That was really detailed and helpful info. I thought we would do a cottage room. Sounds like that is a good idea.
