Assuming you can afford whatever you like. Is there a psychological limit, or something that would make you draw a line in the sand?
$1 million? $10 million? $20 million? |
| 200k |
| Probably about $2 million. Maybe 3 in this area. |
| $2 million |
| I wouldn't buy any house that is too big to take care of. I don't want to have staff - so if it's too much maintenance, then I'm out. Prob around $2.5-3 million in the area. |
LOL. That's still a 6000+ sf home! |
| No line for me. If money is no object I would probably spread the money over multiple properties in different locations - but I'd go pretty big. |
| Probably $1 million. I'd opt for smaller, nicer homes. I'd prefer 2-3 smaller houses as opposed to one huge one. And honestly, I wouldn't spend near $1 million in other areas of the country. |

In Virginia, absolutely! Even in McLean or Arlington. |
| 2 million |
| Around here - $3M |
| 600k-800k limit and even that sounds crazy to me.... |
| The psychological limit for me would be based on size. We have 2 kids and don't need or want a large number of bedrooms. If we could find our 4 bedroom dream house in a great location there would be no real upper price limit assuming unlimited finances. |
| 3 mil. We are looking at retirement in NYC, a two bdrm apt in Manhattan with a monthly maintenance under 3k per month. |
