Countertop laminate paint kit for basement kitchenette for resale?

Anonymous
Getting the house ready to sell. Main kitchen is in great shape. Basement small kitchenette is old, with faded laminate countertop. I will probably just repaint the cabinets. But I was thinking whether using a countertop painting kit on the old laminate is a good idea. It will not hold up for many years, but should be fine for tje sale and the first few years of the next owner's use. Thoughts?

I wouldn't spend much on it

They make pre made laminate countertops at Home Depot for cheap. I'd do that over painting.

yeah, buy cheap laminate counter top replacement at home depot. The paint will look crappy and because of that people will notice it more than they should.

Second the PP. Either replace or leave as is. The basement kitchen counters will not play heavily into a buyers decision, so you're left with the do no harm aspect. I know it's your house and you can do whatever you want with it, but consider the future owners. They probably won't be renovating that kitchen anytime soon unless they are planning to have in laws or someone live there, so don't stick them with something that's poorly done and will be a headache for them in a year or two.
