We went to Trader Joe's last night, and bought a "tarte de champignon," basically, a white pizza with mushrooms. When we got home, we unpacked and put everything away, but somehow, the pizza did not make into the freezer. We watched a movie, and then when I went back into the kitchen two hours later, I noticed that the pizza was still sitting on the table. I said "Oh, crap" and threw into the freezer. Now today, I noticed it said on the package "Do not thaw and refreeze." Can it still be consumed without us getting sick? It will be cooked at 450 degrees... isn't that enough to kill off any germs?
Try it and see what happens.
Not if it was left outside the fridge. I wouldn't. If it was in the fridge not freezer, I would re-freeze, but not outside.
It should be okay safety wise. Can't guarantee the taste though.
The texture of the cheese may suffer, but it should be fine to eat.
I would eat
The concern would be freezer burn/texture not safety. If make it. Worst case it's gross and you toss it. Just have a backup plan.
I wouldn't eat it. That pizza is so thin it would have thawed pretty quickly I think.
OP reporting in. We ate it and it tasted fine. Everything's fine so far. I'll let you all know if disaster ensues.
I think you are fine..there is nothing raw on a frozen pizza. I would have eaten it.
I wouldn't do this if it were raw meat, but you'll probably be fine. |
