| Planning to rent a lake cabin in northern Michigan this summer. I've narrowed it down to two comparable cabins, one is on Silver Lake (outside of Traverse City), the other is on Six Mile Lake - 15 minutes from Charlevoix. I've never been to this part of the country so looking for insight from anyone who may be familiar with either area and whether you'd recommend it. Thanks. |

I'm from Michigan, west Michigan, that is. I've been to Traverse City and Charlevoix, both beautiful areas of the state when nice, but that was when I was younger. What attracts you to that part of the state, other than how nice it is, if you've never been there before?
In my experience, the whole Traverse City/Charlevoix/NW part of the state along the lake is really nice and you can't go wrong, but the people who have cabins and spend lots of time up there might disagree. Good luck. Northern Lower Peninsula Michigan along the lakes is as beautiful as it gets. |
