How to deal with racist/sexist boss??

How do you deal with a boss who is just so backwards when it comes to making comments regarding people's race and against women. It's like he's a walking EEO complaint, he's gotten in trouble many years ago in the past, but continues to say things and still has a high position. He'll say anything about black people and despises immigrants especially Asian immigrants for some reason. People usually gasp when he makes these comments, some call him out, but the issue continues. Recently he said something offensive to me and I was in such shock. The thing is, he is a really jovial person and thinks the things he says are funny.

I write each one down, along with the date and time of the statement. If possibly I use quotes in my record.

Then I forward all the statements he made in front of multiple people to HR, anonymously.

He should be fired any day now, since he hasn't stopped after three warnings.

OP, it doesn't matter that your boss is ignorant in thinking his offensive comments are just funny, or he's just a jovial guy. Irrelevant. You can be jovial and funny without being offensive.

write it down, find witnesses and then sue him. you could get hundreds of thousands and you'd be doing the other employees a favor.
