Running with a cold

Anonymous
I'm supposed to run the cherry blossom 10 miler tomorrow. I have been miserable all day with a cold. I'm wondering if I should run it tomorrow or should I just bow out. It is nearly 1 a.m. I have to get up in 4 hours...and cannot get much sleep, due to nasal congestion and body aches. I really want to run the race, but I don't know if it's wise.

what would you do?

I'll run with congestion but I won't run with body aches.

Pp here. I hope you feel better soon!

If it's neck and above, run. Below the neck or fever, don't run.

I agree--if it's just a stuffy nose and a little cough due to post-nasal drip, sure, run if you want. But if I've got a chest cough or congestion, a fever, or body aches, I would not run. Get some rest and stay hydrated!
