What do these proposals mean for Bancroft?

I think Bancroft is safe.

I am not certain if I have this right, but it looks to me that under Option B, Bancroft will feed into Deal and Wilson, with a possibility that it will at some point feed instead to the proposed new Center City MS, which would then feed to Cardozo.

You mean a new DCPS middle school? Where will it be located? Or do you mean the current model of Cardozo, which is 6-12? Currently there is a charter school called Center City.

In Proposal B (I think) there is a line item of "NEW Center City MS".

Yes, Proposal B calls for a new MS in Center City, where Bancroft MIGHT eventually feed. Another thing is that Proposal B (or is it all of them?) alters the southern Bancroft boundary, to follow the neighborhood boundary at Harvard Street. Folks who live in the southern end of MtP (on Irving and Hobart) would go to Bancroft.

What I wonder then is whether the changes to the Bancroft ES boundary change the boundary for Deal and Wilson as well. My reading of the proposal suggests that is the case, since Prop B uses the ES boundaries to define feeder rights AND boundaries for MS and HS. The MtP folks who are zoned out of Deal but in Wilson (East side of 17th, for example) might be affected.

If I live in the 1700 block of Kenyon street under proposal B will I have rights to DEAL/Wilson?

Yes.

Seems to me what happens here will make or break Bancroft's future. Right now it's gradually gentrifying in a positive way. (More socioeconomic diversity, more parent involvement, stronger PTA, but at the same time no danger becoming an Oyster with too few local Spanish speaking kids.) If we get cut off from Deal, the middle class families will likely flee.
