| What do you do and why do you love it? I'm sure it's too late for a major career change for me but I'm very unhappy in my job and trying to figure out my next move. I want to hear from people who realty enjoy their work!!!! |
| What does 175k have to do with it? Is that what you make now? |
Yes but I'd be willing to make less so should have left the salary part out. |
| You seem nice, but shut up. |
Not the OP but wow are you jealous and bitter. |
| I hate my job and make way less than 175 so I can't be of much help, but how old are you? |
| Are you a congressman? |
| NP here. I think it's a reasonable question. Most people make a tradeoff between salary and enjoyment of what they do. If there are any people who have their dream job that they are completely enamored with, but it's still well over six figures--I want to know! I know very few people like this. |
| I make $0/year as a housewife. It's a good gig. |
|
IT project manager with a team around the world. There are only 4 of us based in the US. That gives me incredible flexibility with regard to working hours. My day begins around 3-4am. I break for "lunch" from 7-8am to get the kids off to school. Then I work until around noon. I eat and take a nap. At 3:30 I pick the kids up from school and run the kids around to activities. Kids are in bed by 8:30 and DH and I go to bed between 10-11.
I work from home so I can squeeze in laundry and grocery shopping on my breaks. My schedule isn't for everyone but somehow after I went out in maternity leave I never went back to sleeping through the night. |
| PP again--- I make $180. I love my job because of the flexibility, the people I work with, the opportunity to work on leading edge projects that keep me marketable, and the overall benefits my company offers beyond my salary. |
| I'm a Sr manager at a large IT consulting company. Our entry level is around $65k, took me 12 years to hit $150+bonus. |
+1 That was my first thought. Moran, are you looking for a new job? |
OP here. I also work in IT project management. This sounds like a dream job! Curious how you found it. |
I spent 10 yrs with the company as a consultant prior. After my first I realized that I could no longer handle the crazy hours and travel so I talked to my boss. My resource manager found me this position. |
