I want snow:(

Just read a winter storm warning for a town I used to live in. Predicting between 4 and 8 inches tonight.

*Sigh*. It's winter. I want a good snowfall! I want to go sledding with the kiddos, make a snowman, snowballs, snow angels then come inside to drink hot chocolate.

I mean, what's the point of January/February if we can't play in the snow?

I know we have brand new snow boots all ready to go...all we need is the snow. This weekend is looking less and less hopeful.

I agree totally! Imagine if that awful freezing rain this week had been 2 feet of snow-- how great would that have been!!

Right there with you. Even DC has been complaining about it.

I'm sure we'll get a big snow storm over Inauguration weekend (can you imagine the chaos?...and if there was too much snow for metro to run - I think it only takes 6 inches for the above-ground stations to close).

We're due for a President's Day storm anyway (last one was 2003 and everything came to a stand still) so don't give up hope yet.

Agree. The random snow flurries (like yesterday) are such a tease.

Count me out. Very few people around here have the ability to drive in snow, and the road crews have no real clue how to clean it up. There are entire roads that are never plowed, and you have to wait three or four days before it all melts.

Me too. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. With all this cold weather - a little snow would make things nice. Not nice on the roads - but that's what snow days are for!

Ugh, I'm out of line here. I'm from up North and glad I moved here to escape what they get. Plus, people driving during times of "white death" get me soooo annoyed.

Agreed! When I tell my family (from the Minnesota area) how people here deal with rain, let alone snow, they are histarical with laughter. People in DC would never survive in an area where there's real snow and inconvenient weather. Cancelled school and work for an inch of snow -- it's not because of the snow, but because of all the horrible drivers and ill-prepared road crews.

If it helps any, people could be even more ridiculous about it. I went to grad school in the South. One night I was supposed to meet a friend for dinner. There were flurries. The restaurant was walking distance for both of us, but I called to make sure we were still on, but he declined. He said, "Don't you know you are not supposed to go outside in the snow?"

As a person who grew up in the Philly 'burbs, I will never forget that as long as I live!

OP here again -

But that's 3 or 4 days of playing in the snow and you just know one or more of those days will be a snow day where you could potentially "work" from home!

17:15 poster - hey fellow PA native! The town in my initial post I was referring to is Pittsburgh. I remember trudging to work in deep snow while I lived there. Such good memories

I still have to say, no. I work at home every day, and I don't want to be trapped here.

I am from Upstate NY, and lived in Wisconsin, so I know about snow and cold. It is just too painful to watch the clueless road crews attempt to salt and plow, and even more painful to watch people try and navigate the roads.
