Don't have a costco membership and don't like Whole Foods cakes. Any other suggestions?

Where are you? Woodmoor bakery in Four Corners/Silver Spring is excellent.
Now that you mention it, I could really go for a slice of Lindas Fudge Cake from Cheesecake Factory. |
Wegmans. Their ultimate chocolate cake is beyond amazing.
Ooops location would be helpful wouldn't it? Bethesda or NW would be ideal, Silver Spring or Rockville would be okay, further away would be tougher.
Now you're talking!!! |
Cheesecake Factory chocolate cake is amazing! It was the one sweet thing I wanted while I was pregnant!
Try Praline on Sangamore Road in Bethesda (Shops at Sumner Place or whatever they're calling it these days). I don't know if they have chocolate, but their other bakery items are good.
Flowers Bakery in Plaza Del Mercado in SS (near intersection of Layhill and Bel Pre) has an amazing chocolate mousse cake (mousse between layers of traditional chocolate cake). The owners used to work at some of the best restaurants in DC before going solo.
Second Praline. They do have chocolate although get there early so you've got a good selection to choose from. It's not Costco prices though. |
Firehook Bakery: http://www.firehook.com/location
Third on Praline. Les Delices in Rockville is also very good and in that same French style.
Praline too fancy - Wegman's!
I also love Wegmans cakes. They are really delicious.
Fire hook.
I did not care for the Wegman's chocolate cake. Way too sweet, both the cake and frosting.
