
It may just be me, but when I regularly take a fish oil supplement every day I am guaranteed to get unwanted, uh, poop issues. Urgency and the like. Trying to avoid TMI here. There's no question it's the fish oil, because when I quit, the issues subside.
I've been taking a big capsule, from Trader Joe's I think. Have any of you successfully tinkered with the amount, formulation or form (capsule vs. oil) to end poop issues? |
I take psyllium husk daily and fish oil doesn't bother me. Try psyllium in your orange juice daily for regularity (fixes both constip and the runs). It will change your life. |
You may need to take less fish oil. Or try a different brand. I give this as a supplement to my son, and find that if he has more than a teaspoon at breakfast and a teaspoon at dinner, he gets the runs. As long as I measure carefully, he is fine. We use Carlson fish oil in the bottle, and I measure the oil into a teaspoon and then mix it into his food. (He needs the oil because of a severe neurological condition; so please don't flame me about giving nutritional supplements to a child.) |
