I don't agree. You seem to be particularly and disproportionately sensitive to our posts.

No, but PP may be sensitive to your disproportionate posting.

O.K., o.k. 21:43, you win! You are the keenest and most dogged among us! Now, as PP may be sensitive to the pro-Feynman posts, as you so astutely suggest (and there may be terrible side effects!), is there anything else PP can do besides read the posts.

So, OP, where's your kid headed to school?

OP here,
He's going to WES. Sorry about the late response, I haven't been on DCUM in a while. I had no idea so many ppl would respond to this thread! Thanks for all of the positive feedback everyone! I hope all of your children are attending great schools next yr.

That being said, welcome to Washington: home of the super people ; where an IQ of 131 is a dime a dozen; as in about 40% of the Pre-K applicants with the remainder being all at about 110-120's and a few 140 and up.

Are you a child psychologist who administers this test?

Please share where you obtained this information, it's interesting.

my information has come from a report that my mother keeps sins i was 4 years of age ,now at the age of 39 i can see that in order to have this kind of average is ok

OP - my son's FSIQ is 132! Take that!

Privates in DC tend to do a great job with the kids that are in the 120s. At your son's level, it's a mixed bag.

A 130 IQ is two standard deviations about the mean. Not genius, but high intelligence. I think it's higher than 97.5 of the population.

That's ABOVE the mean. Sorry.

wow. i just came acrooss this site by chance and most of you are real assholes. From what I gather, all that was asked was what to do with a child that has a 131 IQ. Dont see why everyone has to be so rude. Really?I have an above average IQ and so does my 4 year old, but not genius. I have my PhD in IT/Cyber security and my daughter is already reading. Im not a mensa nor would I ever want to be, but I worked hard for my successes and thats what I teach my children.

My thoughts exactly! Seems like all the other mommas on here are just JEALOUS. An IQ of 131 is highly intelligent. Period. PPs on here can try to shoot down the testing methodology or standard deviation or percentiles in local schools or whatever - it's just haters. Typical DCUMs. (typical lawyers!!!)

Jealous of 131? I don't think so . . .

My dd tested at 160+. I don't believe the results esp when you test so young.

PP, Is that true? While I know that everyone here exaggerates and tells stories to get a rise out of the group or to keep the discussion going, a score that high is really an outlier. What are you doing with your dd in terms of school and her education?

Not the PP but my DS is 13 years old and a legit, verified 173. Hopkins CTY has been all over him for years. It is an awesome program.
I've posted about his education a couple of times. He is at Groton. They can give him what he needs.
The biggest downside to being profoundly gifted is that everything is accelerated including letting go
I never thought I would be packing my kids up to go away for school at this age.
I'm not going to say any more b/c inevitably someone will either make fun of him or me and I'm still a bit raw from moving him.

PP, where was your DS before Groton? Public school (FFX, MD?) or private school? I am sure with kids that smart you will need to supplement regardless of which school he was in.

I don't think it can be true unless PP paid for some very special testing for her 4yo child. The maximum score possible on the WPPSI and WISC is 160. There are other specialized tests that can yield a score above 160, and I'm assuming that's what Groton mom must be citing.
