I am not at all proud of the way the men’s hockey team behaved and their poor sportsmanship towards the women’s team.

Wasn’t that a Trump issue, not the hockey team? There’s generally a pretty healthy respect among men’s and women’s hockey teams. I could see why people wish they’d stood up to Trump on the call, but they were in the locker room right after winning an Olympic gold and he’s their president and who’s gonna challenge him in that moment? Give them a few minutes to think on it, some of them might have.

Not at all. I watched the recording, and Trump was offensive. I don't impute his offense to the team. Most of the team is not political. Auston Matthews, the team captain, certainly isn't political. The 2 Tkachuck brothers are super annoying; glad neither is the team captain.

That's fine. Nobody watched the women's game anyway because it was on at an inconvenient time. The men's event was far more popular and generated a lot more buzz.

Did you see them laughing along with him - not laughing would be a long way from standing up for them fellow athletes but they couldn’t even manage that. Not to mention partying with Patel.

Can't argue with this. DS's hockey bag is the most foul-smelling thing on the planet, and he hasn't even hit puberty yet. To your point, hockey doesn't necessarily lean conservative. That would be baseball. The NHL actually has the highest share of registered independents of the 5 pro leagues.

Ya, I thought their laughing went from robust to awkward after he made comments about the women's team. I give them the benefit of the doubt - they were just off the ice from winning our first men's gold since 1980. This is not what they want their win to be about.
