Sure I celebrate Christmas. So do a lot of people. In fact, so many that the school system couldn't operate. It's also a federal holiday.

This. It's such a ridiculous argument. When 80% of the country is off during this time, it's a pretty good reason to give school holidays. If less than 5% are off, it makes no sense to shut down. Diwali? Eid? RH, YK? Please. It's unnecessary.

Not who you're responding to. But I celebrate Christmas in a secular way -no baby Jesus, nativity, church, etc. And sorry, it just IS different. It's cultural and ingrained, even celebrated by non-Christians in some ways. It just is. And there is the recognition that lots of places shut down, people travel etc. at this time of the year. So it is practical to close over the holidays (to include NY).

As already stated, Christmas is far more than a religious holiday in America. It's also a federal holiday.

I'm not aware of any other Christian holiday that impacts the school calendar.

Pretty sure that if it affects the ADA(average daily attendance) that schools give these days off. Not sure that is the case in FCPS.

I grew up in the Bible Belt. Our spring holiday was not tied to Easter.

(I know someone is going to jump in with "but that's when the immigrants go visit their families" and guess what PP, those immigrants are NOT CHRISTIAN. They could visit their families if we had a two week fall break or spring break or many of them just go away for the whole summer.)
